Treatment for Prostate Cancer

There are lots of different types of treatment of prostate cancer. Since the same treatments may not be right for everyone, its important to review all the options and talk to your doctor about which treatment is best for your diagnosis and current health. 

Treatment Options

  • HIFU: non-invasive procedure that heats and destroys cancerous tissue with sound waves

  • Surgery: Surgical removal of the prostate

  • External Beam Radiation Therapy: Radiation directed at the prostate from outside the body

  • Brachytherapy: Radioactive seeds placed inside the prostate

  • Watchful Waiting: Carefully monitoring the status of the disease with regular checkups to physician
